WHO ARE WE ?

Ekuk Fisheries is a small processing plant
located in Bristol Bay, Alaska
about 16 miles from Dillingham.

It all started in the summer of 2005 with a simple, bold idea of producing a supreme product. A new kind of fish company that works hand in hand with customers and employees to do something amazing, something meaningful.

We successfully run our salmon processing facility (formerly Wards Cove Packing Ekuk Plant, see more info in History) for the last 11 years. All our fish is “set gillnet” harvested by Ekuk beach fisherman and delivered extremely fresh to us within minutes from being caught. With our sizable processing capacity, team of highly experienced managers and engineers and always ready production crew, we take pride in having the freshest Sockeye salmon pack in Bristol Bay.

What sets us apart from everyone else is our ability to think fast and anticipate on the ever changing nature of the Bristol Bay salmon season and the entire seafood industry. Our knowledge is your guarantee for a professional long-term partner, reliable supplier of high quality frozen Sockeye salmon worldwide.

““It was more about the experience than the money. It felt like I was in another world. It was the most surreal place I have been.”

Chris, Atlanta GA

I enjoyed every minute of it even though it was tough but I still smiled through it. The work was tough but I enjoyed it because it would all pay off in the end. It was my first time going on a plane alone and seeing what life has to offer. I can’t stay at home forever, it’s time for me to see what the world has to offer.

I like how its more then managers and coworkers. Its pretty much a family. You develop a bond between these individuals that will last forever. Eating, sleeping, working with the same people day in and day out. You find out alot about yourself and who your true friends are.

My work experience at Ekuk has been exhausting and satisfying. It has pushed me to new energy levels to get through the long shifts, taught how to take sleep where it can be gotten, and among the valuable things I learned in Ekuk, dealing with different personalities in a loud factory environment has been the most beneficial. I always want to come back to Ekuk because I know I can do the work I’m given, I can do it well, and I love the isolated environment of the bay. It is a place I can both be of some small value, and be away from the world.

Alexandra

My summer at Ekuk was of the most enjoyable and inspiring experiences of my life. The wide range of people from all walks, each having a different story and place from which they come, makes for an amazing concentration of exposure to new perspective. The greatest part is that we are all there for the same reason. That reason is SOCKEYE!
